NewsPosted by Dominic Wed, May 21, 2008 09:34:15After hearing that the British Parliment refused to lower the abortion limit and no longer think that fathers are needed in a family. I sent this letter to my MP as I felt that he needed to be told just how wrong his position is, after he voted in favour of keeping the current abortion limit and allowing IVF treatment without fathers.
I urge you to write to your MP's to tell them how you feel. You can find out how the MP's voted here.
The letter!Dear Jim Dowd,
I am writing for you today, after being sickened by the news that the abortion limit will not be reduced from 24 weeks, even though it has been proven that babies can survive out of the womb at 22 weeks. I am also righting to you because I am appalled that you don't think fathers are a critical part of a family.
I don't understand how a man of conscience can vote to continue to allow this travesty and to further weaken the family which is the basis of the country, a country now falling apart both socially and morally.
Furthermore I am not sure how you can ignore public opinion on the issue. In case you didn't realise the majority of people want a decrease on the abortion limit. I along with most people am not against abortion; however I do believe it should be strongly controlled. Do you really think it takes six months for a woman to make up her mind if she wants to keep a baby?
As far as I understand democracy it is your duty to represent the people NOT your party.
After this I can say with certainty that I will not be voting for you and when the time comes for the next general election. I will also remind everyone at church just how you voted on such a critical issue.
I should also inform you I will be posting this letter on the internet.
Yours sincerely
ThoughtsPosted by Dominic Fri, May 16, 2008 17:02:28People have said throughout the ages that the end times are coming but with all thats going on in the world at the moment:
Food shortages due to bad harvests in the USA and Australia.
Cyclones and earthquakes killing ten's of thousands.
Our worlds animal populations becoming extinct and the CO2 level in the atmosphere reaching critical levels.
Wars going on in Iraq and Afganistian.
Surley it can't be long until the end of the world begins...

ThoughtsPosted by journey Thu, May 15, 2008 15:46:34There is growing knife crime in the UK especially London at the moment there have been over thirty knife attacks this year alone.
Many have said that this is just the times we live in and we should get used to it.
However others point out that people no longer have the basic respect for one another that they used to have.
I think it is a sign of the times
because we no longer have the basic respect for one another.
This seems to me to stem from the increasing amount of broken homes, teenage pregnancies and a strong lack of moral background.
Twenty or even ten years ago Christianity was much stronger in this country and the frequency of issues like knife attacks was also much less.
While not claiming that knife attacks are soley because people don't go to church as much.
Isn't it obvious that the morals Christianity gives people will surley make crimes such as this more difficult for the person to carry out.
While the UK goverment continues to try to solve the problem by legal means they should instead look at the route causes and the break down of the society.
They should activley encourage Chistian values and a return to Church.
